An Impressive collective of Academy Award Winners

The film's cast has an impressive collective academy award history with six academy award winners and an additional one nominee :

The Italian, Sophia Loren received the award for Best Actress in 1962 for her astonishing performance in Two Women (the first major award for a non-english performance), she also received an Honorary award for her contribution to world cinema in 1991. Sophia Loren received another nomination for Matrimonio all'italiana in 1965.

The English actor, Daniel Day Lewis is a two time winner for the films My Left Foot in 1990 and There Will be blood in 2008, as well as being nominated for both in the Name of the Father in 1995 and Gangs of New York in 2003.

The English Actress, Judi Dench won the Academy Award for her supporting role in the film Shakespeare in Love in 1999, in which she played the queen Elizabeth I . She has been nominated for both leading and supporting roles in another five occasions : Mrs Brown in 1998, Chocolat in 2001, Iris in 2002, Mrs henderson presents in 2006 and Notes on a Scandal in 2007.

The Aussie Actress, Nicole Kidman, received the academy award for Best Actress in 2003 for her astonishing performance in The Hours in which she played the tormented author Virginia Woolf. She was previously nominated in the same category in 2002 for her performance in Moulin Rouge.

The talented French Actress, Marion Cotillard was awarded in 2008 alongside Daniel Day Lewis for her portrayal of Edith Piaf in la Vie en Rose.

The Spanish actress, Penelope Cruz, received an academy award for her supporting role in the Woody allen's film Vicky Cristina Barcelona in 2009. she was previously nominated in the leading category in 2007 for Volver.

The american actress, Kate Hudson was nominated for her supporting role in 2001 for the film Almost famous.
